SOCIETE GENERALE GHANA UNVEILS ‘THE REWARDS ZONE’ , THE FIRST-EVER LOYALTY PROGRAM TO HIT THE GHANA BANKING INDUSTRY
Societe Generale Ghana has once again taken the lead ahead of its contemporaries in the banking industry by introducing its loyalty program dubbed ‘The Rewards Zone’. The Rewards Zone, which is the first of its kind to hit the industry is a very innovative and efficient way to offer a plus to the Bank’s customers. It is a program to reward loyal customers for the most frequently performed operations, such as subscription for some products, account transactions and usage of cards. The objective of the program is to reward and appreciate customers for their custom.
The press conference, which was attended by management and staff of the Bank, was kick-started with a welcome address by the Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Sionle Yeo. Mr. Yeo stressed on how 2016 had been a great year for Societe Generale Ghana due to the fact that numerous products and services had been made available to its valued customers. He assured customers that the Bank would not relent as the year ended but rather, sought to reward its customers in an even more exciting manner. Mr. Sionle Yeo stated that the Bank was pleased to present this rewards program as a means to thank customers for their unfailing loyalty and support.
Mr. Francois Marchal, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank explained further on the reason behind the name ‘The Rewards Zone’. He said that, the name refers to the fact that, it gives the customers the opportunity to step into a zone where they will enjoy numerous rewards and benefits in satisfying their banking needs. Mr. Marchal said that this program is a demonstration of the Bank’s appreciation for the loyalty and support of its customers. He iterated the fact that Societe Generale Ghana seeks to let its customers know that loyalty pays! Mr. Marchal further stated that the purpose of the loyalty program is to demonstrate the Bank’s strategy to become the best relationship-focused bank in Ghana.
To speak about the rationale and features of the loyalty program was the Head of Marketing Analytics, Mr. Fred Addy. He made it clear that, to enjoy the rewards in the “Rewards Zone”, customers simply need to subscribe to a KIT, that is a product package, with the bank, and perform their usual day to day banking activities as well as, taking loans, saving and buying any of the sound insurance products on offer. No extra subscriptions are required; customers are automatically enrolled on the program once they have a KIT. All customers who have subscribed to a KIT before this launch, will be enrolled automatically onto the program. Mr. Addy further stated that, as customers go about their day-to-day transactions, they automatically earn points which will be converted into gift vouchers.
Mr. Addy added that the points accumulated by customers will be generated and communicated to customers via SMS on a monthly basis. However, customers can call the Banks Contact Centre at any point in time to receive information on the points accumulated. He explained that in order to redeem points for a gift, customers can simply call the contact centre or walk into any Societe Generale Ghana branch nationwide, to request to convert their points for a gift. Customers also have the option of picking up their gifts from any branch of their choice. Each time a customer redeems a gift for a particular threshold, the threshold value is then subtracted from the customer’s accumulated points.
Finally, the Head of Retail Distribution of the Bank, Mr. Obed Hoyah, confirmed that customers could easily be a part of ‘The Rewards Zone’ irrespective of their geographical location, as the Bank has 42 branches all across country including its new Dansoman branch which will be opened this month. He also stated that every customer who is subscribed to a KIT will be able to participate effortlessly, with no complications what-so-ever. He also spoke about the various avenues through which customers can find out more about the program. These include the Bank’s website, Contact Centre, as well as any of its branches.
Mr. Obed Hoyah also announced that the Bank’s new loans promotion, ‘Unlock your Dreams Reloaded’ which begins this month due to the huge demand from customers after its first run earlier this year. He stated that the bank will be offering loans at a highly competitive interest rate of 30% along with an in-built insurance package. It was also announced that the bank had increased its range of products and services by the introduction of RIA money transfer.
The Bank is also running a truly rewarding, customer-centered deposit campaign called the Aky3de3 Nkoaa promotion. With this promotion, all customers get a cool instant gift when they deposit a minimum of GHC200.
