SOCIETE GENERALE GHANA ANNOUNCES 5 SHORTLISTED TEAMS FOR ARTENT!ON 2025

Societe Generale Ghana has announced the 5 shortlisted teams for its ongoing flagship arts competition, ARTENT!ON, in partnership with the Africa Movie Box(AMB).

The selected teams, namely, Bride Price Team, Weavers Thread, After the Last Wear, Before the sun rises and Silent Strokes were selected from 70 teams of 350 applicants and have moved on to the next stages of the competition.

Following their selection, the shortlisted participants were invited to an intensive pre-production workshop held at the Head Office of Societe Generale Ghana. Participants were taken through sessions on scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, editing and production. These workshops were facilitated by industry professionals, such as Isaac Adu Mensah known as Skyface, Nana Asihene, Magdalene Morton, and John Kwame.

Managing Director of Societe General Ghana, Mr Hakim Ouzzani, congratulated the top finalists and acknowledged their hard work and talents. ‘’This is our third edition and this is also special compared to the others because you will have the opportunity to present your work to our board members and also some of our head office managers coming from Paris.” , he also announced

The finalists will also partake in another insightful workshop on the topic “Business of Film” on the 7th of November. The young filmmakers will be taken through the otherwise overlooked commercial aspect of filmmaking, covering key areas such as financial planning, legal and administration, marketing and distribution.

Currently, participants have shifted focus towards the production phase, where they have begun creating films which will tell a diverse range of impactful stories aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The final screening and award presentation will take place on 13th November, where the Grand prize and other rewards will be given to successful participants. The top three (3) of those films will be awarded cash prizes of 50,000, 30,000, and 20,000, Ghana cedis, respectively.
