SOCIETE GENERALE GHANA COMMISSIONS MECHANISED BOREHOLES FOR THE ASAAM AND ESASO SCHOOLS, ASHANTI REGION

Societe Generale Ghana has commissioned single mechanized boreholes for the Asaam and Esaso Schools in the Ashanti region, providing thousands of school children with access to clean and safe drinking water.

The projects, executed in partnership with Polytank, were unveiled at ceremonies held at the forecourts of the two schools. They were attended by chiefs, community members and leaders, staff, parents and students of the Asaam and Esaso Schools.

Speaking at the ceremonies, the Managing Director of Societe Generale Ghana, Mr. Hakim Ouzzani, stated that the projects were a direct reflection of the bank’s commitment to Environment Social and Governance (ESG) goals and its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

“This clean water is for you. Let it keep you healthy, let it help you stay in school every day and let it fuel your dreams”, he said.

Mr. Jonathan Osei Bonsu, representative of Polytank Ghana in his remarks affirmed the company’s continuous partnership and support for all the bank’s efforts to impact communities with potable drinking water.

Head of Supervision of the Ghana Education Service of the Mampong Municipal Directorate., Mr. David Doe, also expressed gratitude to the bank for its magnanimity and proactive support in helping solve the water challenges of the area.

It will go a long way to help our learners especially our girl child to be present and punctual to school always”, he said.

He further assured that the boreholes and pipes would be maintained and kept in good condition through the joint effort of the Directorate and the school leadership

Societe Generale Ghana remains committed to the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, and Goal 13 – Climate Action through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. This project represents yet another step in the bank’s mission to support communities deprived of clean water through its borehole projects.
