PRESS RELEASE

SOCIETE GENERALE GHANA PLC COMMISSIONS NEW BOREHOLE AT KPENOE, HO

Accra - Ghana, Thursday 8th February, 2024

Societe Generale Ghana reinforced the Bank’s status as a reliable partner for community centered interventions with its latest project in the Ho Central Municipality – the provision of a borehole for the Kpenoe Traditional Area.

The newly constructed borehole which is to serve the people of Kpenoe and its environs was a direct response to a dire water situation which lasted several years. Members of the community as a result, were forced to use water from unsafe sources leading to widespread cases of cholera, typhoid and other waterborne diseases.

He highlighted how important safe and clean water was to the people and how its absence affected all domestic and commercial activities. He further said “It is my hope that this initiative from us will benefit the community and make it more convenient for the school children to have access to clean water”. Mr Ouzzani commended the chiefs and the elders in the community for collaborating with the bank to ensure the success of the project.
