Société Générale Ghana is currently seeking for a Database/Linux Administrator , to Manage Systems, Software, Operating systems, Databases, configuration and Administration, Monitoring, and support ensuring best service availability.
Key Results Areas/Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist with the activities performed by Application/Exploitation officers
- Report and liaise with Group to resolve production incidents related to Core Banking Software. Collaborate with Group Infrastructure team on tasks related to infrastructure and systems.
- Provide support on projects with respect to technical responsibilities assigned to IT.
- Assist with design, implementation, and management of virtualized environments using technologies.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain operating systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Assist with designing of backup and replication technologies covering systems, applications and infrastructures.
- Install, configure, and support database systems ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement database security measures and data integrity protocols.
- Collaborate with security teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and maintain compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Design and manage storage solutions for optimal data management and protection.
- Develop and maintain automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes while ensuring security is embedded throughout.
- Monitor and manage system performance, scalability, and reliability through logging and monitoring tools
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems architecture, processes, and configurations.
- Provide reports on system performance, security incidents, and compliance status to supervisors.
- Configuring and supporting required key security controls on systems, applications, and databases to meet regulatory compliance and best industry standards.
- Implementing, and administering Monitoring systems for systems and infrastructures. Configure and manage cryptographic (certificate and keys) operations.

QUALIFICATION
- Minimum 1 st Degree in computer science or a related field
- 5 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
- MCSE/MCSA/ORACLE certifications would be a plus
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
- Extensive experience with database technologies
- Experience with cloud services would be a plus
- VMware Certified Professional and MCP are desired but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with VMware servers in a production environment.
- Additional Linux certifications will be considered an advantage
