Société Générale Ghana is currently seeking for a Head of Security to manage and advise on the safety of the subsidiary for all matters relating to the security of assets (branches and headquarters) and staff (local and expatriate employees).

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Responsible for organizing activities of the Security Steering Committee of SG Ghana
  • Undertake the safety assessment of risk areas
  • Create awareness of personal risks, and threats and attitude to be adopted
  • Liase with security agencies in Ghana to establish cordial working relationship
  • Lead the selection of private security companies that the bank will work with.
  • Evaluate cost of security infrastructure and equipment.
  • Implement the human and technical measures to maintain and optimize the level of security in the bank’s premises
  • Evaluate the quality of guard services, correcting blunders and making proposals to correct the irregularities of security agents.
  • Maintain good working relationship with security service providers
  • Verify the proper implementation of security procedures and recommendations in conformity with SG group requirements
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with local authorities on issues related to safety and security
  • Formulate a consolidated plan and evacuation procedure for employees and other assets of the Company in case of general crisis
  • Implement and monitor the action plans defined and validated by the Group and the Head of the entity.
  • Submit monthly reports on the state of security in the entity to Executive Directors.
  • Supervises, subordinates and direct report in the implementation of operational and technical direction of security schemes.
  • Carry out random checks in all branches covering the territory
  • Ensure effective operating security systems of the branches network
  • Conduct periodic security training for staff and other stakeholders

Security professional, with a strong network of relationships within the local security forces and solid experience in the field of security.

  • CCTV operation and monitoring
  • Computer skills
  • Anti-intrusion systems

  • Fire systems
  • Metal detectors and possibly explosive vapors
  • System and radio communication link
  • Experience in security technologies and systems
  • Experience in military/police Settings

FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

Internal: All Directors, Heads of Departments, Territorial Unit Heads, Branch Managers and general staff body.

External: Ministry of Interior, Ghana Police, Local Authorities, Private Security Agencies etc

QUALIFICATION(S)

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field  or its equivalent in Social Sciences, Criminal justice, Security Management or Equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum of five years in corporate security management
  • Experience in the security services (Police or Military) will an added advantage
  • Ideal candidate should not be more than 50 years.
