SOCIETE GENERALE GHANA LAUNCHES 'HOME SWEET LOAN' TO MAKE HOMEOWNERSHIP A REALITY

Societe Generale Ghana (SG Ghana) has launched its latest product, the SG Ghana Home Sweet Loan, aimed at transforming the housing landscape in Ghana. The Home Sweet Loan mortgage product is offering customers affordable, flexible, and accessible home financing solutions. The event, held at the banks’ Head Office had in attendance Mr. Aymeric Villebrun, Deputy Head of the International Retail Banking, African, Mediterranean Basin and Overseas (AFMO), stakeholders in the Ghanaian Real Estate industry and customers of the bank.

Mr. Kwame Kwegyir Aggrey, Head of Privilege Banking, who gave a detailed presentation on the product, mentioned that with the SG Ghana Home Sweet Loan, customers can access up to GHS 6 million or its USD equivalent for USD-earning clients with a tenure of 60 - 240 months. “The SG Ghana Home Sweet Loan product gives customers the option to buy a new house, construct their own houses or take an equity release on an existing property”. He concluded.

The President of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA), Mr. Patrick Ebo Bonful, lauded the initiative as a significant step in addressing Ghana's housing deficit. “The home mortgage finance market in Ghana is still in its infancy, with loans representing only 1% of GDP. This new product from Societe Generale Ghana is timely and essential for boosting homeownership in the country, especially at a time when the real estate sector needs more innovative solutions.” The GREDA president noted.
